How to participate in the test?
Booking and walk-in services will be available. Community Testing Centres will accord priority to provide service for individuals with advance booking. Citizens who choose to book online via the 24-hour appointment booking system only need to provide simple personal information (including their name, identity document number and phone number), select the testing centre and preferred time-slot. Individuals may also visit the testing centres directly to conduct on-site registration and testing.
For children aged between 3 and 11, may they take the test under the programme if they do not have a birth certificate?
Yes. Children aged between 3 and 11 years old who do not have Hong Kong birth certificate (e.g. born outside Hong Kong) are still eligible for taking the test by on-site registration, as long as they have other valid identity document (e.g. HKSAR Document of Identity for Visa Purposes or HKSAR Re-entry Permit).
How to know the test result ?
Self-paid individuals with negative result will receive the test result via SMS message, and they can download the online report on the report check webpage. Those who tested positive will receive calls from the Department of Health (DH) and arrangement for isolation and treatment in public hospitals.
What can I do if I don't receive SMS message result?
If you did not receive the SMS test result, please login the COVID-19 Electronic Testing Record System(www.evt.gov.hk) and download your electronic testing record.
Do I need to prepare / bring anything for the test?
Drinking (including water), eating, brushing or flossing your teeth are not allowed 30 minutes before specimen collection. Please present valid Hong Kong identity cards or other valid identity documents for registration. If you are travelling to Mainland China, Macau or depart from HK, please bring along the document required for entry to your destination. (e.g. Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents, passport or other travel document)
When will the report/ test result release?
Self-paid testing service: Test Report would be released within 12 or 24 hours after specimen collection base on the service you purchased (Standard or Express). For the report ready time, please swipe up to the " Report ready time" section of this page.
Special Arrangements Under Inclement Weather Conditions
Indoor Community testing centre: Lai Kok Community Hall will be closed if the Gale Or Storm Signal No. 8 is hoisted. If the relevant signal is cancelled after 6pm that day, Indoor Community testing centre will gradually reopen within 2 hours.
*Under the influence of severe weather, if the member of public completed the sampling before the closure of the community testing centres / Outdoor mobile testing stations, the test results will be released as scheduled.
